Collaborations

Eindhoven used to be a bunch of farming villages that ended up fusing to become a metropolitan centre. All because a couple of enterprising Philips brothers decided to mass manufacture the lightbulb in the late 19th century. As a result, Eindhoven’s driving culture (aside from football, having Europe’s longest street of pubs, and its ‘Rock City’ reputation) is its cutting edge crossovers of art/design/innovation/technology and science.

Take Baltan Laboratories, located at Strijp-S on the former Natlab site. I was honoured to be involved in projects such as Hack the Body and Age of Wonderland. The Eindhoven High Tech campus is touted as the world’s smartest square kilometre. Diverse start ups and incubators have their beginnings there, and clients of mine are based there such as officevanderpoll and Philips Design and Philips Hue, among others.
